CONFERENCE SPEAKER

Dr. Matthew Milliner

 

Come explore the intersection of Art and Faith as Professor of Art

History, Dr. Mattew Milliner, presents two talks entitled IPhones, Idols, and Icons.  Dr. Milliner holds an M.A. & Ph.D. in art history from Princeton University, and an M.Div from Princeton Theological Seminary. He currently serves on the faculty of Wheaton College in Wheaton IL, is a six-time appointee to the Curatorial Advisory Board of the United States Senate, and has written for publications ranging from The New York Times to First Things. He was awarded a Commonwealth fellowship at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Culture at the University of Virginia, and is author most recently of The Everlasting People: G.K. Chesterton and the First Nations and Mother of the Lamb: The Story of a Global Icon.   Dr. Milliner’s love for Christ and thought leadership on the issues of image saturation will help create a paradigm for those in attendance to think through how  the use of art can influence culture and faith for the good.

Madison Perry

Director of the UNC Study Center

Madison Perry is the founder & Executive Director of the North Carolina Study Center, a center for Christian life and thought in Chapel Hill, NC. The Study Center opened in 2015 and pursues a vision of offering UNC students and faculty opportunities to connect, grow, and be transformed by an encounter with scripture. Madison studied at UNC for undergrad ('06) and law ('13) and has a master's in theological studies from Duke Divinity ('15). 

Lisa Lamb

Prof of Preaching at Fuller Seminary

Lisa Lamb has taught preaching at Fuller Seminary since 2007, initially as an adjunct professor, and since 2017 as visiting assistant professor of preaching. Dr. Lamb began proclaiming the gospel as a campus staff worker with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, first at UC Santa Cruz and then at Harvard University, later supervising staff in the city of Boston. An ordained minister with the Presbyterian Church (USA), she has pastored in four congregational settings throughout the San Gabriel Valley. She loves mentoring emerging leaders at Fuller and in her presbytery. Lisa passion for global ministry leadership development has led her to travel to 28 countries to disciple and shape the next generation of Christian leaders around the world. She currently serves on the staff of Triangle Grace Church, working with young adults. 

Martin Shin

College Minister at Chapel Hill Bible Church

Martin Shin was born and raised in Argentina. He served in both children’s ministry and university ministry at the Korean Church of Chicago and currently serves as the College Minister at Chapel Hill Bible Church in Chapel Hill, NC.  Martin received a B.A. from Seminario Internacional Teológico Bautista, Argentina and an MDiv from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago.

The Triangle Conference on Theology & Culture (TCTC) is a new initiative for the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area. The mission of TCTC is to connect Christians in our region by hosting events with local and national thought-leaders equipping those who attend for cultural engagement from a biblical worldview that is thoughtful, compassionate, and transformative.
