We are continuing with our "in person worship" at 8:30 AM on Sunday mornings.  If you are comfortable coming out we believe we have created a safe, socially distanced environment in which to worship.  We'll continue with our livestream at 10 AM each Sunday.  We're asking participants in the "in person" service to register for the service they are going to attend.  You can do so by clicking here.

We still need some volunteers for our two The Church Has Left the Building projects on Saturday.  A fence needs to be painted at Iglesia Emanuel and a bike rack installed and some landscaping done for Housing for New Hope.  Click here to sign up for one of those projects.

If you are not a part of a small group and would like to be, you can contact Kevin Mercer and he will help make that connection for you.  Kevin can be reached at

Julia Bales needs some help with some planting around the church.  If you can spend an hour or two on this project please let her know at  She has the equipment needed and can guide you through a planting project.

Next Sunday we'll have our regular live stream service at 10:00 AM but will also join together for another "Worship on the Lot," at 6:30 PM in the lower back parking area.  It promises to be a nice evening and provides a great opportunity to connect with others in a safe, socially distanced way.  We all bring our own chairs and make sure we are wearing face coverings.  Click here to RSVP.

Our gleaning project is coming up on September 26th at Sullivan Farms.  RSVP Here

And finally, our Virtual Wednesday Clubs program will begin on September 30.  The program for Kindergarten-3rd grade will run from 4:30 to 5:45PM and 4th and 5th graders will meet from 4:30 to 6:00PM.  The cost is $20 per child with a $50 family cap.  Register Here

As we move into fall many small groups will be gearing up either virtually or in small gatherings.  If you are not in a small group and would like to be in one you can email me and I'll pass your name and information along to those who can get you connected.  You can also contact Kevin Mercer at  Kevin is the elder who oversees our small group ministry.

Julia Bales has been working tirelessly on our grounds and needs a bit of help with a project.  In an effort to stop some erosion she has a supply of native grasses that need to be planted on the slope between our parking areas.  My understanding is you drill a hole and plant the grass.  Julia has everything you will need and will give some instruction and leave you to the project.  She thinks a couple of hours should do it.  There are about 200 plants. If you can help, let me know and I'll pass your information on to Julia or you can contact her directly at

If you have been wondering how you can help those on the Gulf Coast after Hurricane Laura, you can make donations to TGC which we will then forward for you to a mission agency connected with ECO called World Renew.  I emailed our representative with that organization today and he said they have people on the ground there now helping with immediate needs and discerning what will be most useful in the future.  You can make checks to TGC and earmark them "hurricane."  The Session voted to send a gift from our mission giving but thought you might like to add to that gift as well.

September 1st from 6:00-7:00 we will have our meeting for Middle School Parents. On September 3rd, a Varsity High School parent meeting will take place from 6:00-7:00 PM. Look for an email from Jeff with the link to your meeting. This will be an important meeting to look ahead at the Fall Youth ministry at TGC.

On September 2nd, we will have our first virtual Ministry Team Night Meeting for the fall season.  You will get an email letting you know the information you will need to join your Ministry Team by Zoom.  The meetings in most cases will last an hour or less. Aren't in a Ministry Team?  Learn more and choose one.

On Sunday (9/6) we are planning for worship with communion.  That means you have to be prepared with bread and grape juice or wine.  We still have some small bottles of grape juice at the church that we would be happy to share.  Just give a call before you come to pick one up so we can be sure we still have a supply.

On Sunday (9/6) evening we will have our next, "Worship on the Lot."  We'll park in the upper parking lots and gather in the lower parking lot for a brief worship service.  We will also celebrate the sacrament of the Lord's Supper at this service with prepackaged communion elements.  You may still bring your own from home and will need to bring gluten free bread if you require it.  The service will begin at 6:30 PM.  Bring your own chair and wear a face covering that covers your nose and mouth.

There is NO WEDNESDAY EVENING BIBLE STUDY (9/2) this week since we will be having our Ministry Team Night.  And on Sunday morning the EDUCATING DISCIPLES CLASS WILL NOT be meeting during the discipleship hour.
