Caregivers Support Group


Caregiver Support Group Sessions will meet in Room 101 at 3pm bi-monthly ususally on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of most months.


We will be rotating between support sessions and special presentations provided by the Triangle Chapter of the AAIPC (National Aging in Place Council).

These sessions will be valuable to caregivers as well as those who are 60 years and above.  


Our tentative plan (which may need to be adjusted due to speaker's availability):


May 19              Planned NAIPC Presentation: “Technology for Seniors” - Room 100

                             Our Presenter is Shannon Tippette, Publisher of Senior Guide magazine, and Senior Guide Online.  Shannon is on the board of the NAIPC and several                                                 other organizations. She has a strong background in technology, and a number of her clients are in this specialized space, offering technology for Seniors.

June/July           Summer Break

August 25         Planned NAIPC Presentation: “Documents that You Absolutely Must Have”

September 8    Support Session

September 22  Planned NAIPC Presentation: “Understanding Medicare” by Stephanie Bias, the North Carolina Senior Medicare Patrol (NCSMP)                                                       Program Coordinator for the Seniors’ Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) at the North Carolina Department of Insurance 

October 13       Support Session

October 27       Planned NAIPC Presentation: “Futureproof Your Home/Fall Prevention”

November 10   Planned NAIPC Presentation: “Brain Health”

November 24   Support Session

This small group discusses and shares ways to meet the needs of our older loved ones, with special focus on how to care for parents while providing understanding, support, and fellowship with each other. The group operates under the small group ground rules of confidentiality.
